As I’ve gotten
older I’ve realized that along with many of life’s “big events” like graduating
from college, getting your first big paycheck, getting married, having a baby,
etc., there is also a lot of unknown information. For example, how many people
graduated from college, went through the excitement of commencement, and a weak
later thought, “Now what?” It’s almost as if the simple act of going through commencement
and receiving the diploma meant we would end up with a job offer on our door
step, right?! Unfortunately, as is the case with many of these events, no one
truly prepares you for what to do or how to do it.

Over the last few
years many of my friends have gotten married and I’m sorry to say that the
biggest complain I hear from at least a handful of them is that they are
unhappy with their engagement ring. Gasp! I know! How dare they, right? Some
guy spent thousands of dollars for them to wear a rock (literally) on their
finger and their complaining about it. When a girl talk about her ring being a “ a little bigger” or “a little clearer” or “a different
cut,” seem unfair. As a guy, it’s hard to understand woman to begin with and making such a
large purchase that she is expected to wear for the rest of her life is a lot
of pressure, you should have some guidance.
That’s what this blog is for: your one stop guide to all things diamonds. The good, the bad, and the bloody. In my next blog I will go over what a diamond is, how it is formed, and where it comes from as well as the many controversies behind the extraction and importation of diamonds to the U.S. in this multi-billion dollar industry.
